100+ Fears to Give your Characters Depth

Are your characters missing something? Does your story need more conflict with purpose? Fears are a great way to add dimension and make your characters more relatable.

We talked about fear as one of the four key components of the Character Framework. That's because it adds depth to your characters, creates conflicts, and can lead to character development.

Today's post isn't going to go in depth about writing fear. I may do a full post later this month with tips and tricks. For now this is just a writing prompt/idea post to get your brain juices flowing.

Grab a creepy novel, watch horror movies on Netflix, and try to pinpoint the characters fears. What are they really scared of?

This list is just a starting point for you to mix and match. Try out different fear combinations and see which ones fit your characters. Do they align well with your story's theme? How do they help the story progress?
