Star Struck Poetry by Mackenzie Butts | Star struck, you said to me As if I were a galaxy, As if star dust stuck to my lids. In that moment, I was more infinite than I knew how to be. I’ve seen the way you gaze at constellations. There are no books with maps of me. Some days, Pretty is the best I can do. So I kiss you, Because I can’t take the scrutiny.

Poetry – Star Struck

Star Struck

Star struck, you said to me
As if I were a galaxy,
As if star dust stuck to my lids.
In that moment,
I was more infinite than I knew how to be.

I’ve seen the way you gaze at constellations.
There are no books with maps of me.
Some days,
Pretty is the best I can do.
So I kiss you,
Because I can’t take the scrutiny.
